The Ten Commandments were constructed of ten gilded collagraph sheaves floating above the surface of the paper. The entire Decalogue was written on a Masonite plate, printed using an etching press in a sienna color on a heavy paper, then gilded and surfaced with iridescent craypas to give a luminous quality to the image.
