Partita

A Bach partita is layered beneath Japanese papers, with calligraphic gestures added to the surface. A central panel of gilded Hebrew text floats through the center of the collage, with an attached antique violin peg with gut strings above a heavily textured collaged section. A scallop shell, a symbol of journey and pilgrimage, rests atop a handwritten passage from a Psalm of Ascent.
