Reflections

A layer of 22 carat gold leaf has been applied to the encaustic (wax) surface of this book. Then a section of Psalm 119 was both inscribed and etched onto the face of the book revealing the brilliant red wax substrate, calling forth not only reflections on hope in God's Word, and the integration of the historic traditions of calligraphy, but the aesthetics of gestural expression.
